One Step Closer

September 16, 2013

gallerywallI’ve been working on and collecting pieces for this gallery wall for a little while and I finally got it all up the other day. It includes my ginormous antique quilting hoop & doilies, a favorite print from Katie Daisy, family photos, world map, an “S” for our last name and the number 5.

The number 5 to represent the size of our family. Even though we haven’t seen the face or looked into the eyes of the child that we will be adopting, there is no doubt that the little one is already part of our family.
Daily prayed for, thought of and loved.

When big brother draws a picture of our family, it’s always 5 of us. And one day we will all be together. (Hopefully just like this, we all have superhero powers in this drawing!)

We received some wonderful news late in the day on Friday. After what felt like a very long wait, we can finally say we are DTC (Dossier to China)! This means that all the paperwork, the home study visits, the government approvals, seals, certifications and authentications are complete and our paperwork is arriving at the CCCWA. Our next step is to get “logged in” and then we will officially be ready to receive a referral.

I like to think this is us all letting out a cheer for being one step closer!
